CDBU300 series dynamic braking units

Product parameters:
The CDBU300 series dynamic braking units employ the IGBT module as their master device. They are widely used in various VFD systems since they are compact and convenience and can be used in parallel. In case of rapid deceleration and down operation of motors controlled by a VFD, the kinetic energy will be converted into electric energy due to the load inertia and stored on the DC busbar, activating the overvoltage protection or giving rise to failures of the VFD. The braking unit, however, automatically detects the voltage of the DC busbar and switches itself on and off to release such regenerated electric energy to the braking resistor, so that the VFD may control the motor steadily under varying operation conditions.
Scope of application:
Suitable to elevators, centrifugal fans, industrial laundry machines, wire drawing machines, oil pumping units, roller beds, proportional linkwork systems etc., in which great inertia loads exist.

Control method

Single unit mode

When a braking unit is activated, the master mode is selected.

Master-slave mode

When multiple braking units operate in parallel, one of them will run in master mode, and the rest, slave mode.

Notes: When more than one braking unit are used in parallel, please make sure that one of them is in master control while the others in slave control, where all parallel braking units are connected or disconnected at the same time, otherwise the braking units will be overloaded and damaged.
