Efficient lifting control performance of Canworld VFDs - Overview
- Dedicated brake control logic controls the brake of the lift to release and actuate in an appropriate timing, significantly improving the reliability and comfort of the lifting system.
- No “weightlessness” feeling at the moment of brake releasing when descending, greatly improving the comfort.
- System safety is ensured through the logic that determines if the output frequency and current have reached the set values simultaneously.
- Wide voltage input range and automatic voltage regulation, which avoid the instability resulted by the voltage change of the grid or locked-rotor due to insufficient output.
- Wide speed regulation range, which fulfills the requirements of high speed under light loads and low speed under heavy loads by the lifting system, improving the working efficiency.
Efficient lifting control performance of Canworld VFDs - control logic
Time sequence for brake control logic of CDE500 VFDs:
1. The VFD receives the running command and starts to output.
2. If the output current is larger than “brake release current (EA.02)” and the output frequency reaches “brake release frequency (EA.01)”, and the two aforesaid conditions have been met and lasted for “brake release delay time (EA.03)”, the analog output terminals under the function of “40: brake control” gives an OFF signal to release the brake.
3. In case the VFD is running at a constant speed under the set frequency of EA.01, when the running time has reached the set value of “stopping time of acceleration with the brake released (EA.04)”, it will accelerate to the set frequency.
4. The VFD receives the shutdown command and decelerates to “brake actuation frequency (EA.05)”, and then run at a constant speed under this frequency.
5. When the delay reaches the set value of “waiting time for output signal of brake actuation (EA.06)”, the analog output terminals under the function of “40: brake control” gives an ON signal to actuate the brake.
6. When the delay reaches the set value of “waiting time for shutdown with the brake actuated (EA.07)”, the VFD will block the output and shut down.
Efficient lifting control performance of Canworld VFDs - safe commissioning
Safe commissioning steps for a lift system
To avoid any danger or accident during the system commissioning of a lift, please follow the commissioning procedure below:

A typical example of unsafe commissioning: performing full-load high speed mode immediately after no-load high speed mode.
Efficient lifting control performance of Canworld VFDs - comfort
Methods and requirements for comfort adjustment:
The key to comfort adjustment is setting the brake actuation/release frequency and each interval.
1. The setting of brake actuation and release are separate. In case that the brake is actuated, the lift will remain still.
2. If the lift ascends obviously at the moment of brake release, reduce the release frequency appropriately; while if the lift descends obviously, increase it.
3. If the lift descends obviously at the moment of brake actuation, increase the actuation frequency appropriately.
4. Properly set the stopping time of acceleration with the brake released and waiting time for shutdown with the brake actuated to realize the comfort during running. The stopping time of acceleration with the brake released shall be greater than the time of the mechanical act of brake release, and the waiting time for shutdown with the brake actuated shall be greater than the time of the mechanical act of brake actuation.
5. The frequency of brake actuation and release should not be too low.
